Salinas Tires is a family owned general mechanic & tire shop that started in whittier over 30 years ago. The founder and owner, Salvador Salinas, grew up in Mexico and came to the U.S. carrying practically nothing. After working a few odd jobs here and there, he took a huge risk and decided to open up a tire shop, which at the time was unheard of in Whittier. The risk paid off and to this day he continues to manage his own shop. A few years later, he starred and directed films in Mexico which gave rise to his nickname: “El Commadante Cadena.”
